We are looking for a Pharmacy Librarian to join our team and support the information needs of pharmacy professionals, researchers, and students. The Pharmacy Librarian will be responsible for managing pharmaceutical and medical information resources, providing reference and research support, and developing instructional materials to enhance information literacy in the field of pharmacy. This role requires a strong understanding of pharmaceutical sciences, library science, and digital information systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a health sciences or academic library, with a focus on pharmacy or biomedical information. They will be adept at using medical databases such as PubMed, Embase, and Micromedex, and will be comfortable teaching users how to access and evaluate scientific literature. The Pharmacy Librarian will collaborate with faculty, researchers, and students to support curriculum development, evidence-based practice, and scholarly communication.
Key responsibilities include maintaining and curating pharmacy-related collections, both print and digital; providing one-on-one research consultations; conducting literature searches; and delivering workshops and training sessions on information literacy, citation management, and research tools. The Pharmacy Librarian will also contribute to systematic reviews and other research projects by providing expert search strategies and documentation.
This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as the librarian will work closely with a diverse academic and clinical community. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous learning and professional development. A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program is required, and a background in pharmacy or health sciences is highly desirable.
